How Galeforce Came to Be.
The path to founding Galeforce wasn't a straight line. It started with a fish and chip shop and wound through solar, exteriors, and remodeling along the way.
Jake studied business at Edith Cowan University in Western Australia in the early 2010s. He didn't finish the degree, but the coursework gave him a foundation he still draws on today. The bigger education came from the job he held while he was studying: a management role at a small family-owned fish and chip shop. It was a simple business, but it was where the itch for running things started. Solving the daily problems, working out the numbers, building a team that actually showed up. That was the work that felt right.
A few years later, Jake went to work for his stepfather's solar installation company. That was the first time he spent his days inside a contractor business, and it stuck. He loved the people, the pace, and the directness of the work. There was no corporate fog. Either the install went well or it didn't, and the owner knew by the end of the day. That clarity, and the kind of people drawn to it, turned into a long-term focus.
A move to the United States opened up the next chapter. Jake spent several years inside an exteriors company, learning how a contractor business actually scales, then moved into a more direct consulting role with a national bathroom remodeling franchise. That role was the turning point. His job was to coach new and existing franchise owners through whatever was getting in the way of their success. Some needed help with sales. Some needed help with operations. Some needed help getting out of their own way. Every owner was different, and every conversation taught him something new about what actually moves a small business forward.
Over the course of that work, Jake worked with more than 100 small business owners and contractors. He helped them fix margins, build teams, get out of the field, raise prices, hire managers, fire the wrong ones, and rebuild after rough years. What became clear, over and over, was that the problems contractors and small business owners face are real, solvable, and almost never the ones they think they have on the surface.
Galeforce Consulting was founded to do that work directly. Jake built the company to serve the kind of owners he'd spent his career alongside: hardworking, smart, often the best in the field at the actual trade, but ready for a partner who could help them build the business behind the work. That's the focus, and it's the only thing Galeforce does.
